Mary Dale Jester

Jester, Mary Dale 89, passed away peacefully in her home in Santa Rosa, California on the morning of September 18, 2017. Born to parents Mildred Muncie Meeks and Oliver Dale Sherman, Dale was a graduate of Oak Park High School in Chicago and Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. She is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years, Joseph, sons Lee (Marcia) and Daniel (Vicki), daughters Wendy and Catherine (Bob), grandchildren Caleb, Brett, Whit, Carolyn, Cristine, Joe, and Jamie. A longtime resident of Wayzata, where she was a talented newspaper writer, Dale was happiest during her years spent living on Lake Minnetonka. She loved her many friends, family members and dogs with a fierceness that we will never forget. A prayer service was performed for Dale at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church in Kenwood, CA on Sunday, September 24, 2017. The family will honor her request to lay her ashes to rest at St. Martin's by-the-lake Episcopal Church in Minnetonka Beach.
