Sivertsen, Robert John "Bob" died on Monday, September 18, 2017. He was born in Minneapolis on August 4, 1922. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mildred Sivertsen; sister, MaryAnn Ewart; wife Sarah-Maud W. Sivertsen; and three step-children. He is survived by four nephews, many cousins, a step-daughter and eight step-grandchildren. Bob grew up and attended high school in Minneapolis. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and spent four years serving in World War II on a battleship and minesweeper. He returned to Minneapolis and graduated from the University of Minnesota where he was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity and captain of the varsity swimming team. In 1954, he married Sarah-Maud W. Rosenberry. He served on numerous boards including the Minnesota Orchestra, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, and the Board of Trustees at the House of Hope Church. He was on the Honorary Council of the Minnesota Historical Society and was a Life Trustee of Minnesota Public Radio. Bob and Sarah-Maud shared a deep appreciation of music and nature. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to two of his favorite organizations, Minnesota Public Radio and the Nature Conservancy, or a charity of the donor's choice. A private service is planned.
