Ells, Joyce Ann (nee Stefan) Joyce, a talented artist and medical technologist & medical researcher, passed away 9/17/2017 at the age of 83. Joyce was born in Crow Wing County, MN, 11/21/1933 to Milo John Stefan and Myrtle Louise Erickson. She had a lifetime passion for creating things with her hands: watercolor painting, pottery, weaving and so much more. Joyce did research at various medical laboratories developing radioimmunoassays for measuring peptides and hormones in the body. She was one of the cofounders of Immuno Nuclear Corporation in Stillwater. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Esther Jacobson, her brother Lawrence Stefan and her former husband Dr. Edward Ells. Joyce is survived by her daughters Lori Ells (Steve Sobtzak), Jodi Libey (Bruce), 3 grandchildren, siblings, and long-time friend Dr. Arnold Lindall.
