Einbinder, Scott D. 61, of Minneapolis, passed away peacefully on Aug 16, 2017, surrounded by family. Scott's love of life was contagious, his passions numerous and diverse, and his sudden passing left a hole in the large community who held him so dear. The son of a military family, he was born in Sacramento, Calif., and lived in many places, but his love of the North woods led him to lay his roots in Minnesota where he raised his family. As a stay-at-home Dad, Scott spent his free time in Minneapolis volunteering at Mae and Joseph's school, cooking for Open Arms, playing guitar, and in other ways giving his best to his family and community. He enjoyed tennis and biking, and was a proud member of the St. Anthony Athletic Club where he played raquetball and cherished the camaraderie of his fellow members. His passions outside city limits included a deep love for his cabin in Hackensack, MN, where he found peace surrounded by nature. He was a longtime environmentalist, a lover of animals and of hiking, fishing and exploring the beauty of the outdoors. His annual solstice party was like a second Christmas to him and his family hopes the cabin will continue to be a place for friends and family to gather in his memory. Although widely known for his smile and infectious laugh, nothing lit him up brighter than his granddaughter Charlie, who brought such joy to his last years. He is survived by Kelly, his wife of 31 years, his son Joe, daughter Mae, granddaughter Charlotte, sister Randi, many nieces and nephews, and a large community of loving friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sid and Beth Einbinder, and his brother Clark. Memorial Friday, September 8 at First Universalist Church, 3400 Dupont Ave. S. 10:00 AM visitation with family and 11:00 AM service. Lunch at 1:30 PM at Jax Cafe, 1928 University Ave. N.E., Mpls. All welcome.
