Saffert, Stanley J. age 94, of Burnsville, passed peacefully at home on August 12, 2017. A WWII veteran and longtime instructor at Northwest Airlines, Stan always brightened the days of those around him. With his genuine smile, sincere care and selfless attitude, Stan made the most of any situation. Always seeing the good in others, he is loved by many. Stan and his beloved wife of 72 years, Donna, traveled extensively. They have three children: Paul (Diane), Lynn (Ron) and John; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Always a devoted husband, father and grandfather, Stan was a man of strong values, humor, joy, love, appreciation and enthusiasm. You never had a bad day around Stan. Following the Catholic sacrament, Stan and Donna will be interred at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. A celebration of their lives will be held October 21st at John's, starting at 1 p.m. All are welcome.
