Stire, Tom age 71 of Henderson, NV, and Brooklyn Park, MN passed away Monday, July 24, 2017 with his family by his side after a two year struggle with pulmonary fibrosis. Tom was born July 17, 1946 in Pleasantville, IA to Bob and Lillian Stire. He graduated from Hopkins High School and the University of Minnesota. He served for two years in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Dix, NJ from 1969-1971. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary, and children Shannon (Todd) Taylor of Henderson, NV, Michelle (Jeff) Tompkins of Denver, CO and Rob (Tami) Stire of North Oaks, MN. He is survived by grandchildren Carson and Lauren Taylor, Lily Tompkins, Joey and Ruby Stire and sister Marsha (Jim) Dixon of Bella Vista, AR. Tom loved spending time with family, golfing, traveling and fishing. He most often was found sitting behind his computer developing apps and working on his daily "to do" list. He was an active church servant his entire life, with a passion for missions. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, July 31 at Crosswinds United Methodist Church in Maple Grove. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM and service at 11:00 AM. Memorials preferred to Zoe Helps or Water for Life.
