Florence D. (Foss) Ristad

Ristad, Florence D. (Foss) Born October 25, 1919. Passed away peacefully July 25, 2017 at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock, MN. Preceded in death by husband, Ferdie in 1986. The last surviving child of George and Inga (Norum) Foss' six children and their spouses. Florence was a loving mother of Joanne Heinzen (Ralph), Garrison, ND; James Ristad (Julie), Hallock, MN and Donald Ristad (Kent Cassidy), Wayzata; grandmother of Ward Heinzen (Melanie), Karen Heinzen Araya (Kyle), Eric Ristad (Jennifer) and John Ristad (Michelle); great grandmother of Abigail Heinzen, Nicholas Heinzen, Nolan Heinzen, Beckett Araya, Sofia Araya, Jacob Ristad, Hannah Ristad, Brandon Ristad, Ian Ristad and Alexis Ristad. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Robert Anderson (Marge), Warroad, MN and sister-in-law, Marion Blehm, Bemidji, MN and many nieces and nephews. Born in rural Hallock, MN, Florence lived in the Hallock area her entire life. She was active in the community, serving on the school board in Lake Bronso and Hallock and the hospital board. She lived her faith and was very involved in the Two River Lutheran Church, rural Hallock and later at Grace Lutheran in Hallock. A memorial service will be held at Two River church, now located on the site of the Kittson County History Center in Lake Bronson, MN on Saturday, July 29th at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. in the church. Memorials are preferred to the Two River Cemetery Association.
