Domyahn, Marlayne Johnson Daughter of Clarence R. and Dorothy (Calander) Johnson, was born December 18, 1936, in Isanti County, MN graduate of North Branch High School in 1954. Graduate of Lutheran Bible Institute, Seattle, WA, in 1959. Marlayne's career was as a lay staff worker and Associate In Ministry in the ELCA. She served parishes in Portland, OR, Staten Island, NY, Minneapolis, MN, and Hallock, MN. Also served as secretary to the Director of Holden Village, Rev. Carroll Hinderlie and to Bishop Roland Payne of the Lutheran Church in Liberia, West Africa where she spent 7 1/2 years. Worked at the Division of World Mission & Ecumenism, for The Lutheran Church in America, New York, N.Y., assisting missionaries with travel documentation for going overseas. Marlayne also served as Staff Director at Mt. Carmel Ministries, Alexandria, MN for 2+ years. Married Roger A. Domyahn, April 26, 1998. They made their home in Fargo, ND until moving to Edina, MN in 2009. Survived by husband, Roger Domyahn; two stepsons, Nathan (Heidi) Domyahn and Mark (Lisa) Domyahn; four granddaughters, Abbey, Paige, Evonne, and Anna. Also survived by sisters, Clarice Johnson and Jackie (Paul) Lund; brothers, Delmore (Mary) Johnson and Gust (Janelle Holmvig) Johnson; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 14, 11 AM at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 8600 Fremont Ave, S. Bloomington, MN. Visitation will be Thursday, July 13 from 4-7 PM with a Prayer Service at 5:30 at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 9947 Lyndale Ave S, Bloom-ington, and 1 hour prior to service at the church.
