Allen, Robert Harris, Jr. Age 84, of Mtka and Ft. Myers, FL., passed away peacefully June 24 surrounded by his loving family. Survived by his wonderful wife of 61 yrs., Carol; four sons, Bruce (Julie), Mark (Kim), Matt (Susie), and Chris (Sarah); 11 grandchildren; 6 3/4 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruth; grandson Toby. Robert graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the U of MN in 1953 and followed with a Master's in Business degree. He was an Army 1st Lieutenant serving in the Counter Intelligence Unit and was honorably discharged in 1958. A past City Councilman for Mtka, he worked at IBM, Gamble-Skogmo, Ernst & Whinney, finishing his career with Counselor Realty as a partner. Bob enjoyed many yrs. of coaching and working with the youth in his community. Commander of Sanibel Captiva Sail and Power Squadron 2005-06. Member of St. Michael and All His Angels Church on Sanibel Island. Bob loved his family, music, tennis, golf, boating, and watching almost every sport imaginable. He will be greatly missed. Memorials preferred to DAV of MN Foundation, or Park Nicollet Foundation. Memorial service Thurs., June 29, 2017 at 11am, at Westwood Community Church, 3121 Westwood Dr., Excelsior.
