Joanne Mambretti

Mambretti, Dr. Joanne of Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2014. She was born on June 13, 1947. Joanne graduated with her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1973, a time when few women attended medical school. After her residency she opened her own practice in pulmonary and internal medicine in Worcester, MA. She subsequently worked for Paul Revere Life Insurance as a medical consultant. In 1996 she moved to Minneapolis to work for Prudential Insurance, eventually retiring in 2013 as Vice President and Medical Director of that organization. She received the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal Top Women in Business Award in 2012 and recognition of meritorious service from The American Council of Life Insurers. Joanne inspired her many friends with her enthusiasm and appreciation for the joys of life. She is survived by her children Ann Zumwalt, Mark Zumwalt, and Matthew Zumwalt. Service 2 PM Friday, June 27, 2014 LAKEWOOD CHAPEL 3600 Hennepin, Minneapolis. Visitation 10 AM - 12 noon Friday, June 27 THOMSON-DOUGHERTY MANSION 2535 Park Avenue, Minneapolis and one hour prior to service at LAKEWOOD CHAPEL. Interment Lakewood Cemetery followed by reception at THOMSON-DOUGHERTY MANSION.
