Lacke, John Philip "Jack" Age 93 of Bloomington, was born in Cuba City, WI to John and Aleita (Murphy) Lacke. Jack attended the U of W Platteville after high school and enlisted in the Army Reserve Corps until he was called up for WW II active duty in 1943. He went into action first in Holland, and then in Germany where he was wounded. After the war, Jack finished his degree in Platteville and married his high school sweetheart, Nadine Rudkin in 1947. They both moved to Roila, MO where Jack earned his Master's Degree and taught for a year at the university. He and Nadine then moved to Indianapolis because of a job offer with Liberty Mutual, which became his lifelong career. Daughter, Ann, was also born in Indiana. Jack's job then brought the family to Detroit and finally, Bloomington where he was a founding member of the Church of St. Edward. He enjoyed golfing, ice cream desserts, watching the Vikings and the Lynx, and at the end of his life, playing games with balloons with his grandchildren. However, Jack's number one love was spending time with his family and going up north to Lake Ida to fish. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Nadine, of 51 years, a sister, Mary and brothers: James, Richard, and Jerome, and many other family members. Jack is survived by a daughter, Ann (Stephen) Broz of Bloomington, MN; 4 grandchildren: James (Lindsay) Broz, Lisa (Robert) Lind, Paul (Elizabeth) Broz, David (Amanda) Broz; 7 great-grandchildren: McKenna and Blake Broz, Karina and Julia Lind, Tristan, Samantha, and Annabelle Broz. He is also survived by his brothers: Robert (Judith) Lacke, Thomas (Janet) Lacke, and Daniel Lacke, sister, Barbara (Robert) Schonhoff and sister-in-law, Mary Donna Lacke, and his many cherished nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Jack's life was an excellent example of courage, determination, integrity and love of country. His Christian faith has been and will continue to be an inspiration to his family.
