Webster, Patrice L. Patrice Lee Webster, of Hopkins, Minnesota died May 8 at Methodist Hospital following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Patrice was born March 12, 1962 in Rochester, Minnesota to Lee and Evonne Webster. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the University of Minnesota in French and a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from St. Cloud State University in Political Science. Patrice served as Assistant Director of the Human Research Protection Program at the University of Minnesota. She was dedicated to her work and proud to be associated with her fellow staff members at HRPP. In her final year of college, Patrice completed a six month study abroad in Nevers, France. This served to deepen her lifelong love for the country and culture of France. She was happiest when exploring the streets of Paris, attending an art exhibit, or sipping wine at a sidewalk cafe. It was a great joy for her to be a guide for her son, husband, and siblings on her frequent visits to Paris. Patrice was replenished by the outdoors and particularly by gardening or, as she called it, "just digging in the dirt." She loved to invite friends and family for impromptu barbecues on her patio and sharing a glass of kir in the evening. Patrice's life was a rare gift for her family and all who knew her. Her warmth, generosity of spirit, humor, and unfailing smile will be deeply missed. The sunshine was always just a little brighter when you were with her. Patrice is survived by her husband Craig Lund and her son Andrew Hagmann; brother Thomas Webster, his wife Denise, and their sons Paul and Nicholas; brother Mark and his wife Katie; sister Mary Webster DeWitt and her daughter Stacey Rasmussen; and her canine companion of 15 years, Toby. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Punit Wadhwa and the staff of the Frauenschuh Cancer Center, the medical and hospital staff at Methodist Hospital, and to Dr. Franklyn Prendergast. A memorial celebration of Patrice's life will be held at a time and place yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance in Patrice's name.
