Van Sloun, Leonilla T. 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday April 29, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Van Sloun; sister, Marion Goebel; brothers, Arnold and Rembert Simon; parents, Edmund and Hildegard Simon; brothers in-law, Peter & John Van Sloun, Jerry Goebel, Gene Becker, Al Schwankle; sisters in-law, Faith Wahl, Helene Schwankle, Carol Theisen. She is survived by sons, Mark (Janice) and John (JoAnne); grandchildren, Patrick (Kimberly), Micheal (Allison), Kelly, Keith (Tanya), Jennifer (Jeremy), Daniel, Kathleen, Annalise; great grandchildren, Aiden, Mikayla, Ava, Olivia, Carter, Whitney, Trent, Jonathan, Grace and Juliet; sister, Ruth; sisters-in-law, Eileen and Kathy Van Sloun, and Fran Simon; brothers in-law, Kevin Van Sloun and Dave Theisen; nieces & nephews. Leonilla (Leo or Lee) was born in Cold Spring MN, married Leon in 1949, became a "Home CEO" in 1951. She took up golf later in life to be with her husband and was a long time member of Minnesota Valley CC in MN and Sugar Mill CC in FL. When not on the golf course she was playing bridge with her many friends in either MN or FL. All will miss her sweet smile. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday May 16, 2017 at the Chapel at the Church of St. Patrick, 6820 St. Patricks Lane, Edina MN 55439. Visitation will be 4:30 to 7:30 PM on Monday May 15, 2017 and 1 hour before Mass, both at the Church of St. Patrick. Private interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
