Schulz, Mary K. Age 75, of Minnetonka, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 27, 2017. Preceded in death by parents, William and Isabelle Raetz. Survived by husband, David Stricker; children, Heidi (Scott) Schachtman (Schulz) and Mike (Rachelle) Schulz; stepchildren, Kim (Bob) Griffin and Mark Stricker; grandchildren, Hannah, Ethan, Sam, Bella, Grace, and Jack; brother, John (Sherri) Raetz; other relatives and friends who loved her remarkable spirit and positive energy. Mary was born in Minneapolis. Graduated from Richfield High School and the University of MN for undergrad and medical school. She was board certified in Internal Medicine and was a certified spiritual director. Mary was constantly on the go, with travels to Russia, Israel, Australia, China, all over Europe, Thailand, Vietnam, and India. She was deeply spiritual, and founded a centering prayer group 25 years ago with her dear friend, Sr. Joan Tuberty. She was an artist and painter, a member of the Northstar Watercolor Society. She volunteered as a listener for the downtrodden through the community outreach program at St. Vincent de Paul. She loved physical activity and in her younger years enjoyed biking, running, and being out in nature. She ran 17 marathons. She saw the good and the beauty in everything and everyone. Memorial service on Tues. May 2, 2017 at 2:00pm, with visitation one hour prior at the chapel of the Basilica of St. Mary, 88 - 17th St. N., Minneapolis 55403.
