Weicht, Richard Albert age 85 died peacefully at home in Phoenix, AZ with Linda, his loving wife of 63 years by his side, on April 19, 2017. Born on a ranch in Nisland, S.D., to William Fred Weicht and Alice Mary Taylor, the family moved to a farm in Elk River, Minnesota, where he graduated from High School in 1949. He joined the Navy in 1951 during the Korean War and after basic training met Linda Adolfson. They married on May 15, 1953 and their love and respect for each other carried through his entire life. With an honorable discharge in 1955, the young couple settled in Minnesota where he began a distinguished 42-year career with Adolfson & Peterson Construction. He started as a Carpenter Apprentice and provided leadership and guidance as the Company grew, retiring as Senior Vice President in 1997. During his retirement with Linda, he created wonderful family memories and always encouraged each family member with love and respect. He had a deep faith in his Lord, and set an example in humble service and generous giving. Richard is survived by his beloved wife Linda, four sons and their spouses; Scott (Marty), Kent (Victoria), Todd (Sandy) and Grant (Beth) and twelve grandchildren; Anna, Eric, Patty, Esther, Brett, Linnea, Tait, Katya, Maddie, Hyugo, Anneka and Magnus. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert and John, sister Gloria Manos and brother-in-law Henry Hiller. He is survived by siblings Arthur, Virginia Roberts, Mabel Zimmer, Doris Hiller, Elaine Donais, Don and Ken. Richard's quiet wisdom, positive outlook on life and welcoming voice will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Funeral services for only immediate and extended family will be in early May in Phoenix, AZ. In memory of Richard, an endowment called the Richard A Weicht Memorial Fund to Fairhaven Ministries has been established. This will be for the ongoing maintenance of the facilities.
