Frost, Wayne A. "Elmo" Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle and Friend Wayne "Elmo" Allan Frost, age 83, of St. Paul, MN died peacefully on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at The Pillars Hospice Home. After graduating from Harding High School, Wayne enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After returning from Korea, he married his high school sweetheart, Goldie Doris Sandeen on September 23, 1955 in Chisago City. A lifelong resident of St. Paul, Wayne worked for AT&T for 34 years. He then volunteered at the Crises Hot Line for ten years. Wayne had a reputation as a terrific story and joke teller, World War II History buff, and excellent Jeopardy player. He loved Mozart and Vivaldi and poetry and shared that passion with his daughter, Cheryl. Always a voracious reader, Wayne's lifelong hobbies included playing and watching golf with his son, Ward and buddies. Poker was a favorite way to relax, claiming, "It takes a lifetime of practice to learn to relax properly!" He was preceded in death by his infant son, Daniel Frost; parents, Florence and Anthony Frost; and sister, Dorthi Grimsby. Wayne will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Goldie; daughter, Cheryl (Jay Couture) Frostcouture of Mahtomedi and Ward (Kristie) Van Frost of Oakdale; grandchildren, Charles and Sophie Couture and Sydney Van Frost; brothers, Dick (Fay) Frost of Spokane, WA and Vaughn Frost of Maplewood; niece, Lisa Matteson; many other nieces and nephews; other family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to The Pillars of Oakdale. Memorial Service will be Saturday, May 13th at 12 pm Noon, at Katherine Abbott Park, 1000 Lincolntown Ave., Mahtomedi, MN.
