Stoker, Betty Anderson age 89, of White Bear Lake, died April 22, 2017 at home surrounded by family. Preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Lynn C. Stoker, M.D. Survived by children Valerie Stoker, Christine Ganzlin, Laura Stoker (Charles Stein), Robert Stoker (Shelli) and her five beloved grandchildren. She was born on August 18, 1927 in Jamestown, New York. She received a New York State Regents Scholarship to attend Syracuse University, where she graduated with a degree in political science. After she married and while her husband studied medicine, Betty worked for the Political Science Department at Yale University and then at a firm representing broadcast media in Washington, D.C. Betty and Lynn moved to New Hampshire where their children were born and then to Albert Lea, MN in 1962 where they raised their family. There, she was active in many community organizations and political campaigns. Betty was devoted to her husband and family as well as the dogs that were part of their life throughout. She was passionate about social justice issues, loved gardening and birdwatching, was a voracious reader, and an avid Minnesota Twins fan. A memorial service followed by lunch will be held on Monday, May 8th at 11:30 am at Saint Andrew's Lutheran Church, 900 Stillwater Road, Mahtomedi, MN 55110.
