Sandquist, John David Nov. 22, 1935 - March 7, 2017 John Sandquist of Outing and Ft. Myers, FL, passed away at 81, leaving behind his wife of 59 years, Patricia Gazda Sandquist. Over the past three years, John had valiantly fought the cancer which did not deter him from traveling to Lake Roosevelt every summer to enjoy the north country he so loved. Since purchasing a cabin in 1968, snow-mobiling, boating and enjoying family and friends were high on his list of favorites. John retired from his employment as a millwright at Honeywell in 1994. They bought a home in Ft. Myers Beach, FL that year and became snowbirds. Among the family mourning his loss are Pat, their daughter, Debi (Brian) Zak, grandsons Patrick Thompson (Megan) grandson Derek Thomp-son, and great grandchildren; also, in-laws Delores Baumann, Frank (Jean) Gazda, and Paulette Gazda, and many other relatives. The family requests that memorial contributions be sent to: Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Ft. Myers, FL 33908.
