Anderson, Barbara Jeanne (nee Prickett) Age 81, formerly of Wayzata, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014. Beloved Great-Grandmother, Grandmother, Mother, Sister, Aunt, friend and member of the Catholic community. Preceded in death by her husband, Marlowe, her son, Gregory, her brother, Gerald Prickett, her sister, Janese Granholm, her parents, in-laws and other loved ones. Survived by devoted sweetheart Don Rath; brother, David Prickett (Amy); sister-in-law, Ellena Prickett; brother-in-law, Richard Anderson; sister-in-law, Donna Schumacher (Mike); son, Murray (Kaye); daughter, Anita (Victoria); son, Jon (Kathi Halloran); daughter, Sherri; granddaughter, Katie; grandson Matthew (Nicole); grandson, Michael; grandson, Nathan (Brynn); great-granddaughter, Harper; and many nieces and nephews and their families. She was born in Montrose, MN on December 15, 1932 to parents, George and Evelyn Prickett. She graduated from Buffalo High School and worked for Northwestern Bell for 30 years. She enjoyed being the Choir director at St. John the Baptist church in Excelsior, MN, before moving to Marshall, MN where she and Marlowe owned a ballroom. After retiring from the phone company, she worked at Countrywide Industries. Barb enjoyed spending time with Don, family and friends. Her love and care extended to family, friends and everyone she met, even casual acquaintances. Barb loved to sing, dance and party. She fed her sense of adventure by travel and the outdoors. Everyone who met her commented on her beauty and her ever present smile. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Lake Minnetonka Shores and Hospice who's care allowed Barb to maintain her dignity and grace throughout these past 4 years. A viewing will be held at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E Wayzata Blvd in Wayzata from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 20th, with prayer service at 7:30 p.m. The funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21st, visitation 1 hour before at The Church of St. Bartholomew, 630 E Wayzata Blvd in Wayzata.
