Harty, Lois J. A long-time resident of Coon Rapids, MN, died Thursday, February 23 at Autumn Glen Senior Living in Coon Rapids. She was preceded in death by daughter Kathryn, 5 brothers and sisters and grandson Daniel Carter. She is survived by children Neil Harty and wife Cindy, T. Michael Harty, Barbara Harty Hunnicutt and husband Tony and Jane Beer. Born April 12, 1926 in Superior, Wisconsin, Lois received her bachelor's degree in education from University of Wisconsin Superior. She taught kindergarten for 30 years in the Anoka school district at Morris Bye and Sand Creek schools. She loved to share stories about her students and was loved by her fellow educators. In her younger years, Lois was an accomplished pianist and was a part of the local Ice Follies. She enjoyed traveling and traveled abroad. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 2 at Faith Lutheran Church, 11115 Hanson Blvd., Coon Rapids, MN 55433. Visitation at 10:00, service at 11:00 and lunch served afterwards.
