Carroll, Hugh Douglas Jr. 81, of Cottage Grove, passed on 2-13-2017. Born 9-3-1935 to mother, Ruth Weber & father, Hugh Douglas Carroll Sr. He was a proud US Army Korean War Veteran, an Electrical & Design Engineer, and founder of Applied Motion Technology. As a small aircraft pilot, he enjoyed flying, was a great woodworker, and loved spending time with family. Doug was a remarkable husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be missed by his family, many friends and neighbors. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Francis Carroll, son Daniel, and grandson Chadlee. He is survived by his wife Majel Mary Carroll; children Deborah (Craig), Linda (Steve), Mark (Mary Lisa), Mary (Tim), daughter Kathi (Jim); brother Scott (Ellie) and sister Kim (Kevin); grandchildren Ryan, Alissa, Brooke, Justin, Brittany, Kelsey, Brandon, Frank, Daniel, Jacob, Jessica, Cheyanne; great-grandchildren, Javae, Dre, Saige, Harrison, Lillian, Murphy, Lucas, Liam, and welcoming Axton. Graveside Military Service is 10am Saturday, March 11th at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 1800 Edgerton St., Saint Paul, MN 55117. Celebration of Life will be held 12 noon Sat, March 11th at Cottage Grove VFW, 9260 E Pt Douglas Road S., Cottage Grove, MN 55016.
