Springer, Gerald B. age 95, of Eden Prairie, MN, passed away Jan. 14, 2017. Gerald was a WWII veteran in the European Theatre and was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He retired from Minnegas-co and was an adult leader in the Boy Scouts. He was an active member of the IHM community. Gerald was an avid history buff who enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. He was devoted to his family and to those in need. Preceded in death by wife, Eunice; daughter, Michelle and special friend, Dorothy Head. Survived by children, Margaret (Cleve) Fitzsimmons, Jeremy (Nancy), Joseph (Ruth), John (Kristine); 7 grandchildren & 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Gloria Peterson. Memorials preferred to Prop Food Shelf or Immaculate Heart of Mary. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, Jan. 20, 11 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 13505 Excelsior Blvd., Minnetonka, MN.
