Berkas, Rev. Theodore of Bloomington, MN died January 15, 2017 trusting in the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his father, Sever Berkas of Hillsboro, North Dakota and his mother, Cecelia Anonby Berkas; by three brothers, Chester, Ernest and Roy and by son, John. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dee; three sons, Thomas (Rebecca), Duane (Laura) and Jim (Michelle); eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was greatly helped in his life by a praying mother, a loving wife and the patience and encouragement of family, friends, pastors and teachers. He was a graduate of Augsburg College, University of Minnesota and the AFLC Seminary at Medicine Lake and a decorated veteran of the Korean War. His life work was almost equally divided between teaching high school English and serving churches as a Lutheran Pastor. Places where he taught or preached include Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, North Dakota, Washington and the country of Madagascar. Funeral services to be held at Emmaus Lutheran Church, 8443 2nd Ave. So., Bloomington, Sunday, January 22nd, 3:00 P.M with visitation 1 hour prior to service. Private Interment Hillside Cemetery.
