Rigmor Mattsen

Mattsen, Rigmor age 96, long resident of St. Louis Park, passed away on Nov. 29, 2016. Preceded in death by parents, Janus & Helga Jensen, brothers Alf & Ragne Jensen, husband of 57 years, Thorvald Mattsen, daughter, Marcia Morgan and son-in-law, Jim Morgan. Survived by children: Sandra (Ken) Solom, Larry (Jan) Mattsen, Randy (Melanie) Mattsen and Wendy (Duane) Holmquist as well as nine grandchildren: Tim Solom, Tom Solom, Todd Solom, Jeremy Mattsen, Ben Mattsen, Shane Mattsen, Kelly Mattsen, Chris Holmquist and Melissa Paintner, as well as many great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Rigmor, better know as "Riggy", was born in St. Edward, NE. The Depression forced her family to start over in Askov, MN, where she graduated from high school in 1938. She married Thorvald Mattsen in Jan. 1942. Thorvald went off to WWII just before Sandra was born. After Thorvald returned from the war the family moved to Fridley, MN and then to St. Louis Park, MN where Marcia, Larry, Randy and Wendy were raised. Rigmor adored her family and enjoyed baking, crocheting and sewing items for church, family and friends. She was loved and will be missed by all. Memorial Services to be held Dec. 17, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Anoka United Methodist Church. Memorials preferred to American Heart Association.
