Lanie, Joyce E. Age 73, of Anoka lost her battle with cancer on 10/22/16. Preceded in death by her parents, Elroy & Eveline Wendorf; brother, Roger Wendorf; brother-in-law, Erland Raduenz. Survived by her husband of 47 yrs. Ed Lanie; son, Bill (Katie) Lanie; grandson, Michael (Ashley) Martin-Lowers; great-grandchildren Rayden, Jayce; brothers, Earl (Helen) Wendorf, Merlin (Eva) Wendorf, Virgil (Majel) Wendorf, Allen (Laura) Wendorf; sister, Lois Raduenz; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Joyce was known as the "bear lady" for her collection of stuffed bear animals; she loved spending time with family and friends, traveling and camping. Joyce was devoted to her faith; even through her battle with cancer her devotion to her faith remained strong. Joyce was a member of the LWML and served as Mt. Olive's church secretary for 25+ years. Memorial service 11:00 Thursday (10/27/2016) at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church (700 Western St. Anoka) visitation 5-8 pm TOMORROW (Wednesday 10/26/2016) at Gearhart Anoka Funeral Home (552 East River Rd. Anoka) and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Interment in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
