Hayes, Matthew G. (Matt) Age 48, of Minneapolis, MN, made his final flight which departed from the Anoka County Airport for an afternoon sight seeing in the air on October 6, 2016. He was rerouted to the home of the Lord where his brother Michael, grandparents, Clarence & Helen Lindstrom and Del & Irene Hayes were waiting for him. He will be sadly missed by his parents, George & Audrey Hayes; sister Melissa, her husband, Todd Langer & son, Carter Olene; sister-in-law, Laura Hayes; nephews, Brandon and Aaron Hayes; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Matt was a graduate of Elk River High School, St Cloud State U-BS Science, and The Art Institute Int'l MN-Culinary Arts. His passion was aviation and his wealth was in all of the friends he made. He flew as pilot for Mesaba, Spirit, Continental, and United Airlines. Visitation will be held Thurs., Oct. 20 from 5-7 PM at Dare's Funeral Home, 805 Main St, Elk River. Funeral service at 11 AM on Fri., Oct 21, 2016 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 1506 Main Street, Elk River, MN with visitation 1 hour prior to service.
