Spika, Shirley J. age 67, of Edina. Died 10/2/2016 suddenly and unexpectedly of natural causes at her home. Preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Phyllis Spika. Survived by her siblings, Susan (Harlow) Higinbotham, Judy (Jim) Romlin, and Paul (Nancy Miller) Spika; beloved nephews and niece, Richard (Allyson) Romlin of Denver; Jennifer (Andrew) Romlin Brace of Chicago; Charles Romlin of Mpls. Shirley loved children and babies, and was a very proud aunt to Richie, Jenna and Charlie. She enjoyed family, relatives, long-time friends and delighted in her independence and the many friendships she had at the Durham in Edina. Shirley was a dedicated worker for 25 years at the FDA lab in Mpls and for many years, up until her passing, at Opportunity Partners in Minnetonka. Special thanks to OP/SILS staff for the many years of help given to Shirley. Memorial service Sunday, 10/30/16 at Durham Apts, 7201 York Av S., Edina 55435. Social: 12-3 pm. Service 12:35 pm.
