Crews, Richard W. Born in El Paso, Texas. Passed away July 16th in Encinitas, California. Richard graduated from Golden Valley High School in 1966. He lived most of his life in Encinitas. The world lost an artistic genius, an architect, a philosopher, and a prolific writer. He was a highly opinionated, irreverent, intellectually stimulating and never boring individual. He designed and built his unique house and filled it with his art. His gardens were a riotous collision of sculptures, cacti, succulents, and milkweed grown for his beloved monarch butterflies. What people remember the most about Richard were the friendships he made and kept, and the support and loyalty he gave to his friends. The people who knew him well, loved him deeply. His heart and home were always open to all. He was preceded in death by his father Ralph W. Crews and survived by Betty Crews (mother), his 4 siblings and their spouses, and his nieces, nephews, a great niece, his trusty dog Cheeko and many, many friends. Services have been held.
