Stanoch, Lois Florence age 89, of Minnetonka, died peacefully in her sleep on July 25th at Saint Therese of New Hope. She is survived by her sons John (Tammy Lee) and David, grandchildren Joseph, Louis, Maxwell and Lissa, her sister Joan Gustafson, sister-in-law Bernie Farnsworth, brothers-in-law Gerald Stanoch (Joan), Albert Stanoch and Harold Stanoch and sister-in-law Shirley Stanoch, many nephews and their families and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Bruno Stanoch, her parents Louis and Jean Robinson and her brother James Robinson. Lois grew up in North Minneapolis and worked right out of high school as a telephone operator at Northwestern Bell, making lifelong friends with the "telephone girls" who always provided her great joy. She was a stay at home mom and great cook who provided her children with many opportunities (and transportation!) for participation in music, sports and civic engagement and was proud of her decades of service as an election judge in the City of Minnetonka. She loved, loved, loved her grandchildren and delighted in watching them grow up and shopping for the perfect presents for them on holidays, birthdays or "just because". As her physical health declined in recent years and her dementia advanced, she had a fierce will to live and remained remarkably optimistic, always greeting visitors with a quick smile. When asked how she was doing, her response was "fine, fine, fine" up until the very end. The family would like to thank her wonderful in-home caregiver Becky Snyder-Horace for her care while in hospice and the staff of the memory care unit at Saint Therese who took care of her with such compassion after she "graduated" from hospice. The family will hold a celebration of her life at a later date. In honor of Lois, offer a comforting word or act of kindness to someone in need, she would like that. Godspeed Lois, you faced some hard times here on Earth, but always fought through and have earned an eternity of peaceful rest.
