Amberson, James R. Age 81, of Richfield, passed away on June 22, 2016, in the loving arms of his family. The son of Carl and Hannah (Fjerstad) Amberson of Fosston, MN, serving the US Army stationed at Panmunjom, S. Korea, discharged with a Letter of Commendation. Worked for Flour City Architectural Metals of Mpls, for nearly forty years in supervisory positions, designing tooling resulting in many noteworthy structures including the IDS Tower; WTC and the United Concourse at O'Hare. Survived by Marie, his loving wife of nearly 56 years; sons James Carl of Singapore, and Richard Charles (Susan Weber), granddaughters Hannah Marie and Shannon Lea of Chanhassen; sisters Phyllis (Walter) Koosmann and Janice (Ozzie) Gottlieb of Zimmerman; sisters-in-law Carol Bradehoft of Maple Grove and Kathleen (Darryl) Mustonen of Bemidji and many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents, a brother and sister. Funeral Services, Thur, June 30, at 1:00pm at House of Prayer Lutheran Church, Richfield, MN. Interment with Military Honors at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society; House of Prayer Foundation; or, the donor's choice.
