Boe, Ronald (Bloomington MN). Passed away Sunday evening... What a terrific long life, a loving Husband, (65/years) father, grandfather and friend to many. Born in 1927 to Sue (Mimi) & Roy Boe. Ron grew up in Minneapolis along with his brother Barron & his beloved sister & best friend Patricia (Sis) Thomas. Ron graduated from Washburn High School (1945) and attended U of M. An avid golfer, he continued to play to the age of 87 and even beat his sons just last summer!! We could all hope to live such a healthy, active life!!! Ron enjoyed a long & successful career in print ad sales with Process Displays. Most people thought he actually worked for Dairy Queen, but he did not. He was, however, responsible for printing all those delicious pictures of Ice Cream in the stores. He made many life long friends at DQ. An Army veteran, he and the troops Occupied Japan after WWII. Known by family as Dad, Papa, Ronnie and Uncle Dewey, he spent most of his free time at the family's Tree farm in New Richmond, WI, inviting all friends and relatives to spend weekends of quality time together. In retirement he & Mary traveled with friends throughout six continents, made it on the cover of Sports Illustrated when they attended the Masters. He especially enjoyed the times spent at Lake Julia, WI with dear friends. An incredible father of five boys (Bradley, Ronnie, Peter, Mark & David), Ron loved the time he spent with his kids. He literally came home from work every night to coach all five in Baseball, Football & hockey, simply known by all his sons friends as "Coach Boe". As the life of any party, he was a natural to make people laugh. He had an incredible sense of humor & nicknamed most everyone... The nicknames were something that stuck with people for life and were endearing to all. Ron is survived by his wife Mary, their five sons & spouses & nine grandchildren. Dad, "It really was a Wonderful Life"!!!! Memorial mass and reception to follow Saturday, June 18th, 9 a.m. at PAX CHRISTI Church, 12100 Pioneer Trail, Eden Prairie, MN. Suggested memorial to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Memphis, Tennessee. Private interment.
