Carlson, Elaine H. age 51, of Mpls, passed away peacefully in her home early May 10, 2014 of complications from pneumonia, after a long and courageous battle that demonstrated her incredible will to live and to experience life to the utmost. Elaine was an active member of Annunciation Catholic Church and was most recently Director of their new preschool, which she helped found. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from the College of Saint Benedict and her Master of Arts degree in Gifted and Talented Education from Saint Thomas University. She began her career at Immaculate Conception School, teaching first grade, and later taught preschool and kindergarten at Annunciation. Elaine went on four mission trips with Annunciation in recent years and was also active as a volunteer with Bridging. She had a vast circle of lifelong and devoted friends. Her verve to live and to experience everything that the world had to offer was contagious and inspiring. She loved travel, camping, theater, concerts, holidays with family, and socializing with friends. She was a devoted and attentive mother to her children Frances Louise and Charles Bradley, and the beautiful and uniquely wonderful wife of Dean, all of whom survive her. Elaine is also survived by her mother, Patricia, her sisters Elizabeth (Mark) and Carolyn, her mother-in-law Mary Lou, father- in-law James, sister-in-law Kathy (Wanda) and nieces and nephews Britany, Lucas, Stephanie, Theo, Nicholas, Franklin, and Louise. Her brother Paul and father Leo predeceased her. She will be missed by all of us who love her dearly. Visitation will be at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 5801 Lyndale Ave. S. on Thursday 5/15 from 5:00-8:00 pm and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church, 509 W. 54th St. on Friday 5/16 at 10:00 am, with a visitation at 9:30 am.
