Svardal, Cecilia "Celia" (Scott) (Weisbecker) of Sandstone, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Hospital/St. Mary's Campus in Rochester, MN at the age of 78 years. She was born on April 29, 1935 to Clarence and Mildred (Wagner) Weisbecker in La Crosse, Wisconsin where she grew up and graduated from Aquinas High School, Class of 1953. She later lived in Brooklyn Center before moving to Sandstone where she has since resided. Celia married Dwaine Svardal on March 2, 1993. She was employed as the head secretary at Sandburg Middle School in Golden Valley for many years. She was on the Brooklyn Center Planning Commission for 10 years and the Brooklyn Center City Council for 14 years. She was also an active member of the Danforth Community Chapel and the Sandstone Senior Center. She enjoyed singing and dancing. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Weisbecker; her father, Clarence Weisbecker; her in-laws, Conrad and Catherine Svardal and her grandson, Ian Scott. Celia is survived by her husband, Dwaine; her children: Steve (Kathy), David (Pam), Kevin (Dana), Larry (Pam), Randy, Kenneth and Susan (Steve); her step-daughters: Doreen, Diane (Brock) and Denise (Brandon); her brother, Tony Weisbecker and eleven grandchildren: Sarah, Derik, Shaun, Aaron, Zeke, Taylor, Hailey, Rylee, Braxton, Braddax and Gavin. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 12 noon at Danforth Community Chapel in Danforth Township with Pastor Peter Dobson officiating. Inurnment is at Spring Park Cemetery in Sandstone with a luncheon to follow at the Evangelical Free Church in Sandstone. Musicians are Joanne Fahlman (pianist) and Vivian Swanson (organist). Urn bearers are Derik Scott, Shaun Scott, Zeke Scott, Aaron Scott, Taylor Ross and Louis Scott. Honorary urn bearers are Steve Scott, David Scott, Kevin Scott, Larry Scott, Randy Scott and Kenny Scott.
