Reed, Barbara Ann (Swain) 6-10-1940 - 4-13-2014 She left this world on Palm Sunday to join her granddaughter Alicia Marie Baker, and those whom she loved dearly who have passed before her. She was a Pillar of the community of Columbia Heights and elsewhere as she took pride in her belief that community is family. Barbara's legacy is carried on through her brother, William "Billy D" Swain and nephews, William Swain and Donald Swain; children, Dorie Sherrill-Zimmer (Tim), Debra Sherrill Hultman, Deana Sherrill Basso (Jay), Ray Sherrill (Julie); Barbara's best friend and companion, Gerald Weigscheid and his family; grandchildren, Jerry Hultman, Daniel Allenson, Trevor Sherrill and Austin Sherrill; great-grandchildren, Brennen Allenson and Jasmine Hultman. Barbara will be missed by her MANY friends and co-workers. Per Barbara's request there is to be no funeral. She has donated her body to the Anatomy Bequest Program at the U of M to continue her journey in helping others. "Celebration of Life" Party to be held on April 27, 2014 at 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Columbia Heights VFW Post 230 where she was Club Manager for 27 years -- 4446 Central Ave NE, Columbia Heights MN 55421 (763-788-8187).
