Pirsch, JoAnn H. Age 85, of Edina, passed away on June 13, 2016, just days of shy of her 86th birthday. Preceded in death by her parents, Winslow and Evageline Moes, and one granddaughter, Katherine Olson. Joey was born June 16, 1930 in Minneapolis, MN and graduated from St. Margaret's Academy and the University of MN, where she obtained a degree in Home Economics. She was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, the Minneapolis Women's Club and the Little Flowers church guild at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Edina. She was a co-founder of the Edina Special Children's Group, which later became Edina Special Education. Joey is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Thomas, her daughter, Nancy Olson (Rolf), son, Charlie Pirsch, daughter, Barbara Freeman, son, Fritz Pirsch (Andrea), six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, June 16 at 2:00 pm with visitation one hour prior at Washburn McReavy Funeral Chapel, 5000 West 50th and Highway 100, Edina. The family wishes to thank the staff at Walker Care Suites and Allina Hospice for their loving care of Joey in her last months.
