Swanson, Audrey Howard (Bunny) After a brief illness, Audrey (Bunny) Howard Swanson passed away on June 10th, 2013 from pneumonia and related complications. Born on July 19, 1921 in Madelia, Minnesota to Burt Boynton Howard and Hazel Mary Spencer Howard of Lake Crystal, Minnesota, Audrey grew up on the farm homesteaded in the 1860's by her great- grandfather Henry Clay Howard and his wife Deborah (Robinson). She graduated from Mankato High School in 1939 and from Grinnell College in 1943. Audrey and her husband Dr. Clayton Swanson enjoyed an active life in Cottagewood on Lake Minnetonka where they moved in 1955, sharing their home with family and friends from the Minnesota State Dental Association, Power Squadron and Navy Reserve communities. Following Clayton's untimely death in 1971, Audrey reconnected with friends from her high school and college years which brought her great joy and enduring friendships. A complete obituary was printed in this paper on June 23, 2013. A public celebration of Audrey's life will be held this Saturday, October 5th 2013 from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM (short program at 2 pm) at The Marsh, 15000 Minnetonka Boulevard in Minnetonka, MN.
