Peters, William A. (Bill) 3M Chemist. Loving husband, father, grand and great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. 1929 - 2012. Preceded in death by parents, Frank and Germaine Peters; identical twin brother, Walter F.; and 1st wife, Rachel. Bill passed away peacefully Sept. 1 with family at his side. His faith and family are his strongholds. Survived by devoted wife and confidante, Doris; daughters, Sandra (Dave) Dickman and Karen Peters; granddaughters, Kristen (Beto) Hayashi and Beth (Mike) Karuschak III; great-granddaughter, Maria Kathryn (Mia) Karuschak; sister, Germaine Nora; sister-in-law, Marie Peters; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ralph and Geri Thaemlitz; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Johnson, Lugenia Pancheri, Elaine Bertoldi; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Bill was born in Iron Mountain, MI and graduated from Norway High School, Norway, MI and Western Michigan University with a degree in math, chemistry and education. He served in the Army at the Army Chemical Center in Maryland. Bill married Rachel Pancheri (1931-1975) in 1953 and they had twin daughters. Bill worked as an analytical chemist at the Army Chemical Center after military service, Ansel, Marinette, WI and 3M Company, St. Paul, MN from 1963, retiring in 1990. He married Doris in 1979. After retirement they traveled and spent winters in South Texas. In April 2007 Bill suffered a stroke and cognitive brain injury causing post-stroke vascular dementia. Doris was his 24/7 caregiver until his death. Many thanks to Robbyn Sklenar, his home care companion, the Gables - Boutwells Landing Care Center and HealthEast Hospice. He will be sadly missed by family and friends but he is at peace. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am, Monday, September 10th, at St. Ambrose of Woodbury Catholic Community, 4125 Woodbury Drive (at Bailey Road), Woodbury, MN. Visitation 1 hour preceding Mass. Private interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials to HealthEast Hospice, The Gables - Boutwells Landing, or Bishop Pates St. Ambrose Education Fund.
