Zabezhinsky, Samuil age 88, of St. Louis Park. Loving husband, father, grand-father, and musician. Preceded in death by parents, Wolff & Raisa Zabezhinsky, and sisters, Leah, Sara, Vera. Survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mira; children, Natalie & Vladimir Zabezhinsky, Natalya & Lenny Zabezhinsky, and Jane Mashkovich; grandchildren, Roman, Michael, Rebecca, Lauren & Leo Zabezhinsky, and Vera Fainshtein. Samuil was born in Velizh, Russia, and moved to St. Petersburg at a young age, where he studied at the Leningrad Music Conservatory and became a violin prodigy. He served in the Soviet Army during World War II and became a wounded veteran. After the war, he continued his career as a violinist in the Leningrad Radio & TV Orchestra and became a renowned music teacher with many accomplished students currently playing in symphonies around the world. Samuil moved to Minneapolis in 1992 to join his family and continued to teach music. He enjoyed gardening and volunteering as a musician at local Jewish Homes, hospitals and organizations. Samuil lived an amazing life and loved his family, friends, and students very much. Graveside service Thursday (TODAY) 10:30 AM, MINNEAPOLIS JEWISH CEMETERY, 70 1/2 St. and Penn Ave. S., Richfield.
