Muller, John Joseph, MD 91, Hibbing, died Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Guardian Angels in Hibbing. He was born in Rudyard, MT to Alphonse and Hilda Muller on November 7, 1920. He graduated from Hingham High School in 1938 and from Montana State University in Bozeman in 1942. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1945. He did his medical Internship in Portland, OR. Dr. Muller spent two years in the Army service at the VA Hospital in Hot Springs, SD. He then received his master's degree in medicine from the University of Minnesota. After a six month service at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul, MN where he met Jo Ann, he spent five years at Roswell Park Cancer Research Center in Buffalo NY. They married in June of 1953. John and Jo Ann made their home in Hibbing in September of 1956 after John was hire by the Adams Clinic as one of their surgeons. Dr. Muller retired from the clinic in 1988. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. John will be missed by his wife, Jo Ann; children, Timothy (Christine) Muller, Hibbing, Terrance (Ellen) Muller, Mpls., Theodore Muller, Ruxburg, ID, and Madeline (James) Kochevar, Marquette, MI; his siblings, Viola Rambo, Libby, MT, Eileen Buchholtz, Beach, ND, and James (Shirley) Muller, Rudyard, MT; six grandchildren, Carissa & John Muller, Elizabeth & Claire Muller, and McCall and Jack Kochevar. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Clara Lipp. The Funeral Mass will be held in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at 1:00 pm. Monday, April 16, 2012 with visitation taking place in Church from Noon until 1:00 pm. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the VFW Post 8510 Honor Guard. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Hibbing Food Shelf-1910 1st Av., Hibbing, MN 55746.
