Hawkyard, Glenn Wallace "Woody" age 82, died February 12, 2012 at HCMC. Glenn was born November 27, 1929 at his family home in Hallock, MN, the youngest of Frank and Alma Hawkyard's three children. He graduated from Hallock High School in 1947, served in the US Marine Corps from 1951-1953, attended the University of Minnesota and graduated in 1958 with a degree in Forestry. Glenn married Mavis Smith on December 19, 1970 in Clark, SD. Glenn worked as an assessor for many years with the State of MN, several cities in the western suburbs and Hennepin County. He also was an avid wood carver, and he and Mavis loved to travel and spend time at the Minnesota Arboretum. Glenn was fun, funny and sometimes total irreverent. He is survived by wife, Mavis; also several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Alma (Locken) Hawkyard; brother, Bill Hawkyard; and sister, Joyce (William) Johnson.
