Luzaich, Richard "Rick" 63, of Wayzata, passed away peacefully April 16 after a courageous battle with mesotheli-oma cancer. He was born November 9, 1952 in Minneapolis, son of Mary and John (Jack) Luzaich. Rick graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1970. He also graduated from Dunwoody Institute studying mechanical design and drafting. Rick worked in many different fields and managed or started many businesses. Throughout his working career, he continued to reinvent himself, working recently as a successful insurance agent with American Income Life. Rick loved animals and had many as pets including a horse, Flicka, his dogs Daiquiri, Darby, Liberty and Betty. He also loved the water, especially boating. But his life-long passion was music and the Beatles. Rick sang and played bass guitar for over 48 years with some successful bands including Union Jack, Big Walter Smith, and City Fox. Rick still had fun playing bass with musician friends until he no longer could. He found the love of his life & married his best friend, Jennifer Johnson on September 7, 2007. Survived by: his wife; his stepdaughter, Jasmine Ural; his stepson, Jackson Ural; his mother; his stepfather, Mark Lyman; his brother, John (Michelle) Luzaich; his mother-in-law, Noreen Johnson; his father-in-law, Clyde Johnson; his sister-in-law, Jody (Butch) Leyda; his sister-in-law, Sheila-Marie (Jim) Untiedt; many aunts and uncles, and many more cousins, nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. Preceded in death by: his father; paternal grandparents, Mae Luzaich, Doris and Mike Luzaich; maternal grandparents, Louise and Ralph D. Burgess Sr.; his aunt, Lois Lucas; his uncle, Richard Burgess; Mac and Muriel McCarthy; Bob and Gloria MacCarthy. Services: April 28, 11 am.
