Donald W. Johnson

Johnson, Donald W. Don passed away 11/27/15 at home in Pahrump, NV. Born in St. Paul 2/28/33 & raised in So Mpls. Lived in So Nevada for 31 years. He was a honorably-discharged Korean War veteran & a Mason. He had a marvelous voice & was an on-air radio personality for 40 years, a job that he loved, having worked at KTCR, & KEEY in Mpls, and 10 years at KXTZ in Las Vegas. He was twice named Country Music DJ of the year. Survived by his wife Delores (Dodie) Otto Johnson (Pahrump, NV); sisters Marge Knoke Berget (Eagan), Sharon (Romon) Gawreluk (Coon Rapids); daughter Stacey L. Johnson (WA); five grandchildren & two great-grandsons; nephews Dave (Pam) Gawreluk (Zimmerman), Don (Renee) Gawreluk (Anoka), Dan (Sue) Knoke (Eagan); many close in-laws; great & great-great nieces & nephews; friends; beloved pets Pooh & Little Dog. Don was met in heaven by his birth parents Walter & Esther, parents Ernest & Ann Nelson, sister, father & mother-in-law Werner & Margaret Otto, great-niece Madeline, brothers & sisters-in-law, a grandson; loved pets Muffin & Buffy Marie. Arrangements by Pahrump Family Mortuary 775-727-4099. Memorial service 11 AM Saturday, January 16th at Immaculate Conception Church, 151 So Washington Ave, New Richmond, WI (lunch served after).
