Dankowski, DeAnn Our smart, courageous, bossy, intrepid world traveler took her last trip September 28th. People have amazing courage as demonstrated by DeAnn and all those who loved her. This long list includes her dedicated and loving husband Bob Powell; her beautiful children Drew & Audrey; grieving parents Gene and MaryLou; heartbroken sisters Lynn (Paul), Becky (Paul), Katie (Tod); loving aunts Joan & Kay; many nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law Mary. De had an unbelievable group of friends & co-workers, neighbors and knitters. Our family cannot adequately express our thanks and admiration of De's friends for their love and support this last year. Nanner-goat grew up in South Minneapolis and lived most her life there. She attended Benilde St. Margarets and graduated from the University of Minnesota, including a semester in France, where she graduated with a degree in Art History. She went on to receive her Masters in Art History and worked at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts for over twenty years. De loved art; studying it, collecting it, making it. She was one crafty mama and could make anything as long as it wasn't in the kitchen. She loved to travel, especially to France, and made sure her kids did too. She was a rabid Vikings fan, tri athlete, knitter, quilter, antique afficianado, crossword puzzler, and dedicated fan of the Purple One. We will miss you, we love you, we were blessed to have you for 51 glorious years, you showed us how it's done. Memorials preferred to Powell Kids Education Fund c/o Bob Powell. Services at St Joan of Arc on Thursday, October 1st. 4537 3rd Ave So Mpls. 9:00 AM visitation, 10:00 AM service with lunch to follow. Go softly into the night & SKOL!
