Larson, Dr. David A. M.D. of Edina, died November 11, age 79, after many years of living with Parkinson's disease. David was born March 4, 1940 in Wausau, WI. He grew up in Wittenberg, WI graduating from Wittenberg HS in 1958. A graduate of St. Olaf College (Chemistry) in 1962, he married M. Kathryn (Hegdal) Larson, his partner in love and life shortly after. David attended medical school at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and later specialized in Neuroradiology. He served 2 years as a U.S. Army doctor in Tacoma, WA and taught in Tucson, AZ before settling into radiology practice at Metropolitan Medical Center and Abbott NW in Minneapolis. David will be remembered for his kindness, energy and dedication to his family and profession. His passions included his family, time at the lake, travel, academics, music and theater, historical non-fiction, camping, projects, photography and his beloved grandchildren. Preceded in death by his dear wife Kathy and parents, Art & Elenora (Rue) Larson. Survived by children Mark Larson (Jean Rehkamp), Jenny Larson (Michael Bischoff), Jonathan Larson (Suzanne Kaufman); grandchildren Andrew, Peter, Isaiah, Grace, Eleanor and Kathryn; siblings Miriam Gandrud (Gary), Larry Larson (Gail), Paul Larson (Dianne) and Susan Larson (Frank Morgan), brothers and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services Friday, (November 15) at 11 am at Woodlake Lutheran Church, 2120 W. 76th St., Richfield. Visitation Thursday 5-7 pm (sharing memories 6:30 pm) at Morris Nilsen Chapel, 6527 Portland Ave S, Richfield and one hour prior to service at church.
