Debelak, Raymond A. age 95 of St. Anthony Village died peacefully on Monday, July 8, 2019. Ray was born in Duluth, MN. After graduating from Morgan Park High School, he attended Duluth Junior College until he joined the Army in 1943 as a medic. Following the war, Ray and Billie settled in Minneapo lis where he earned a degree in pharmacy from the University of Minnesota. After retiring and closing his drug store in 1989, Ray continued working part-time as pharmacist until his second retirement at age 80. He was a devout Catholic, living and modeling his faith daily. Ray treasured time spent with his family. Ray was a loyal, caring, and fun-loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grand-father and friend. He enjoyed many sports both as a participant and spectator, card games, and reading. With a twinkle in his eye, and a quick smile, Ray embraced life to its fullest. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Debelak and his brothers, John (Shirley) and William (Winnie). Ray is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Billie Jane; children Douglas (Colleen), Donald (Martha), Marianne (Paul) Paulos, Joan, Janet (Larry) Cruse, Gregory (Krista); 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday, July 18, 2019, 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 2739 NE Stinson Pkwy, St. Anthony, MN 55418. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Friday, July 19, 2019, 2:15 p.m. In lieu of flowers, suggested memorials are: St. Charles Borromeo School or Catholic Charities.
