Anderson, Rev. James R. The Reverend James Reynold Anderson was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He graduated from St. Peter High School, Gustavus Adolphus College, and The Augustana Theological Seminary in Rock Island, Illinois. His parish service included Christ Lutheran Church in Marine on St. Croix, Transfiguration Lutheran Church in Bloomington, Messiah Lutheran Church in Redwood City, California and Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. While serving in the Minnesota Synod he was the President of the Bloomington Clergy, Chaplain of the Minnesota State Legislature, Dean of the St. Croix District and served on the Synod's executive board. During his time in California he was a Regent at California Lutheran University and was named an honorary alumnus of Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary. Pastor Anderson was an active member of the all the communities he served. He coached youth sports, was the President of the Gustavus Alumni Association, served as President of the Sequoia Y.M.C.A., and was named a Life Member of Kiwanis International. He was named a WCCO good neighbor. In his retirement he served as an archivist, writer and part time chaplain at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church. Pastor Anderson loved to spend time with his family and friends at the family cabin on Lake Minnewaska. He was a beloved husband, dad, grandfather, pastor, friend and Gustie. Pastor Anderson is preceded in death by his parents Reynold and Sylvia Anderson. Survived by Diane Hammargren Anderson wife of 55 years. Daughter Rebecca Fahrenz (Lee), Son Scott (Kari). Grandchildren Alissa, Meredith, Monica, Linnea, Cole, Ben. Brother Tom Anderson (Diane). Sister in law Kelly Hammargren. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Gustavus Adolphus College, Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, or Cathedral of the Pines Church Camp. Memorial service Thursday, May 30 11 AM at Mt.
