Adams, David G. Age 75, of Minnetrista, MN, formerly of Chaska, MN, died peacefully on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at his home. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019, 3:30 PM with visitation starting at 2:30 PM all at Westwood Community Church, 3121 Westwood Drive, Excelsior, MN, with Pastor David Trautmann officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Eureka College, 300 East College Avenue, Eureka, IL, 61530-1500, eureka.edu. David was born on April 13, 1944 in Bloomington, IL, to Harold and Esther (Sass) Adams, one of three sons. He graduated from Normal Community High School in Normal, IL. He earned his BA in Mathematics at Eureka College in Eureka, IL, and went on to earn his Masters in Actuarial Sciences at the University of Michigan. On April 3, 1966 he married Marjory Brower at Davis Memorial Christian Church in Taylorville, IL. They moved to Chaska in 1973 and have been residents of Minnetrista since 1997. David served as a consulting actuary in Philadelphia and Minneapolis before becoming Chief Actuary at E.L.C.A. pension services. He enjoyed volunteering his actuarial work for free to churches across the world. He enjoyed traveling with his family nationally and internationally and loved sailing in the Caribbean. He especially loved attending his grandchildren's many activities. He was a Trustee at Eureka College, treasurer at Carver-Scott Humane Society, and past Commodore at the Shorewood Yacht Club. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife, Marjory; children, Grant (Meg) Adams of Victoria, Monica (Mark) Shimpa of Greenbush, Barton (Jenny) Adams of Waconia; 6 grandchildren, Cullen, Logan, Grace, Lydia, Clayton and Amelia Adams; brothers, Roger (Barbara) Adams of Guilford, CT, Robert (Susan) Adams of Port Orchard, WA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
