Matthew F. Bentz

Bentz, Matthew F. Age 52, of San Antonio, formerly of Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, with his family by his side. He was born August 14, 1966, in Anoka, Minnesota, a son of Dr. Herman and Joyce Bentz. Matt was a member of the Crownridge campus of Oak Hills Church in San Antonio. He worked for many years in inside sales for United Healthcare, Hewlett Packard, Pearson Education, and most recently, Nearpod. Matt's passions included his beloved children, his golden retriever, and BBQ. He is preceded in death by brothers-in-law Mark Mahlstedt and Chip Lantz, & sister-in-law Suzanne Mahlstedt. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of over 23 years Renita and eight children: Sam, Luke, Noah, Selah, Lydia, Joshua, Chloe, and Esther. Siblings: Pamela (Alan) Nottke, Steve (Dianne) Bentz, Dave Bentz, Wendy Lantz, Janelle (Phill) Southan; brother-in-law David (Patricia) Mahlstedt; and many nieces and nephews. Everyone is invited to a service at 2 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2019, to celebrate Matt's life at the Crownridge campus of Oak Hills Church, 19595 IH 10W, San Antonio, TX, 78257.
