Podratz, Ronald D. Age 75 of Maple Grove. Preceded in death by parents, Harold and Florence; mother-in- law, Doris Bickmann; nephew, Francis Senander. Survived by loving wife, Deanna; children, Nate (Molly) Podratz, Jaime (Greg) Cnossen & Lauren Podratz; grandchildren, Isla, Jack, Luke, Brianna & Emily; brothers, Elroy, Jerry (Paulette) & Rick (Chris); sister-in-law, Sharon Podratz; brother-in-law, Jim Senander; many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. Ron began his career as a teacher at business and tech schools. Following his attainment of his college degree at Mankato State University, Ron joined General Mills as an early pioneer in computer programming. His extraordinary work ethic and leadership skills led him to several career advancements, including a new leadership position in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he also completed his MBA at California State University, all while balancing career and family. Ron returned to Minneapolis and eventually retired from a long career at Wells Fargo/Norwest Banks, where he led a large team responsible for the banks' finance and information systems division. Ron developed deep relationships from his career that he enjoyed maintaining through retirement, especially on the golf course. While Ron thoroughly enjoyed his professional career, the role he cherished most was that of the consummate family man. Ron had a passion for basketball coaching, playing and refereeing. He was very active in his church and community, and loved spending time with his family, playing golf, boating, and every grandkid- related activity he could join. Memorial service at Lord of Life Lutheran Church (7401 Cty. Rd. 101) Monday, April 22nd at 2 PM with visitation one hour prior and reception to follow.
