Hart, Franklin Henry "Chunk", "Papa" Age 86, of Clear Lake, formerly of Fridley, passed away peacefully in his lake home on Monday, April 8, 2019. Born January 17, 1933 to Franklin Sr. and Lempi Hart. Frank was raised in Northeast Minneapolis with his 5 younger siblings. He attended Edison High School where he played football, baseball and basketball (all sports that he truly loved). After high school, he proudly served in the United States Air Force where he was an air policeman stationed in Fairbanks Alaska. He met his wife Teresa on a blind date 3 years into the service and fell in love. They married after his release from active duty when he returned to Minnesota in 1955. He went on to become a very successful businessman working alongside his brothers Norman and Patrick at Hart Brothers Floor Covering in New Brighton. Franks other love and passion in life was coaching football, baseball and hockey. He made a significant impact not only in his children's lives, but all those he coached. Frank was an avid fisherman and an experienced card player. He looked forward to every fishing opener spending time with Betty, Len and their entire family fishing, eating, drinking and playing cards. The "family card club" was something he enjoyed every month with his relatives. Frank really enjoyed watching his Minnesota Sports teams but what made him most proud was watching his grandchildren excel in sports. Most important to him was his family, relatives and friends. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed! For those people fortunate to have known him and share his life, he always made you feel like family. He will remain forever in our hearts! Frank is preceded in death by his lovely wife of 57 years, Teresa; his eldest son Franklin III, and son-in- law, Danny Winters. He is survived by his daughters Debbie (Bob) McCann; Linda Winters; sons Craig (Sandra) and Mark (Suzanne); his 8 adored grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, long established friends and special friend Janet Cope. Visitation 5-8 PM Monday, April 15 at Washburn-McReavy Columbia Heights Chapel, 4101 Central Ave. NE, and also one hour prior to the service at church. Mass of Christian Burial to be held 11 AM Tuesday, April 16 at Church of St. William, 6120-5th St. NE, Fridley. Private interment Ft. Snelling. Washburn-McReavy.com 612-781-6828
